We’re charging $45 per head. It’s a set menu dinner with choice of four main courses. If you have special dietary reqirements, please let us know as they can be adequately catered for.
Loretta has qualifications in both Science and Business Administration. She is a sought-after media commentator on Health Issues and has twice been Australian Skeptics’ Skeptic of the Year.
Dr Ken Harvey
Graduate of the University of Melbourne (Medicine) and specialised in microbiology, Dr. Harvey was a member of the expert group that drafted the World Health Organization Ethical Criteria for Medicinal Drug Promotion. Dr. Harvey has assisted in formulating drug policy for many countries in the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Harvey currently holds the position of Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health, La Trobe University. He has been awarded life membership of Choice (the Australia Consumer’s Association) for services to the consumer movement and is a member of their Policy Advisory Group. Dr. Harvey is more popularly known in the media for speaking out against unethical practices in health care including alternative medicine. Dr. Ken Harvey was recently the subject of libel action when he spoke out about a weight loss company. (The action was unsuccessful.)
Dr Stephen Basser
Dr Basser is a suburban GP. He has long been involved in Skeptical activities, and is Vic Skeptics media representaive on medical issues. He has spoken several times at Skeptics Café and has been a guest speaker at a number of Australian Skeptics annual conferences. Dr Basser has also contributed to this site:
Dr Michael Vagg
Dr Vagg is a member of the Editorial Board of Prof Edzard Ernst’s FACT journal (Focus on Alternative and Complementary Medicine). He’s a Co-founder of Great Ocean Road Skeptics, and Fellow of the Institute for Science in Medicine, chaired by Dr Steve Novella www.scienceinmedicine.org. His previous Panel experience includes being a speaker at last year’s TAM Oz panel on SBM.
Dr Vagg is also Co-convenor of Surfcoast Summer Skepticamp. He’s a former RAAF Medical Officer, including tour of Timor Leste with InterFET. He’s also a lapsed CAM enthusiast, Jungian theorist, Catholic, paranormal fan and conspiracy theorist.
