Tickets for this event are now SOLD OUT.
On the evening of Saturday December 1, you are invited to dine with us in the ANZ Pavilion of Melbourne’s beautiful and iconic Arts Centre.
Whether or not you’re able to make it to the rest of the Convention, come and enjoy a beautiful meal with the speakers and guests of the the Australian Skeptics National Convention.
The evening will also feature the presentation of the annual Australian Skeptic Awards.
The Thornett Award for the Promotion of Reason (known as the “Fred”, in honour of the late Fred Thornett) will be presented to a member of the public, or a public figure, who has made a significant contribution to public education of science and reason.
The Skeptic of the Year will be presented to a person, within the skeptical community, who has shown exceptional levels of skeptical activism.
And most importantly, the Bent Spoon Award (named in honour of notorious spoon-bender Uri Geller) will be presented to the person or organisation deemed to the biggest perpetrator of the most preposterous piece of paranormal or pseudo-scientific piffle.
Recent winners of that illustrious honour include Meryl Dorey of the Australian (anti) Vaccination Network, and RMIT University, for their promotion of the unproven and highly dubious practice of paediatric chiropractic. Read all about the previous winners here.
Tickets for this auspicious event are only $110 and selling fast. Purchase your tickets here.
