From quacks cracking backs to the challenges of education systems to an update on Scientology – the journey continues
Our speaker for April Skeptics Café is Katharine Shade. At Skepticon 2023, Katharine spoke about her journey to skepticism and will briefly outline highlights of that talk. Katharine will also speak on education and the progress, or lack thereof, of schools.
The Internet has changed how effectively we protest. Scientology is on the receiving end of current changes. Katharine will give an update on what’s been happening with Scientology and how failure to fully embrace these changes means they have lost much of their influence. She will also share what she has learnt about lesser-known parts of the cult. More.
START TIME: 6:00 pm for dinner, with the presentation beginning at 7:30pm.
LOCATION:Function Room at The Stolberg Hotel, 197 Plenty Road Preston. The 86 tram route is close, and Bell train station – situated on the Epping line – is a short walk away. It will also be a virtual event accessible via Zoom, as per the details above.
